The SAILS Journal of Law invites scholarly contributions for its inaugural volume — an interdisciplinary inquiry into the legal architecture confronting climate change.
Incorporated on 6 October 2020 at Pondicherry — a land of sages and an iconic son of India — SAILS promotes the rule of law, human rights and the dignity of the person through consciousness, legal education, and interdisciplinary research.
In furtherance of its aims, SAILS will publish a journal of law in English annually, each volume devoted to a specific theme. For its inaugural issue, the chosen theme is 'Climate Change — Challenges in Policy, Law and Implementation': a subject of universal and common concern affecting every human being and everything in the world we inhabit, with responsibility owed to future generations.
The journal welcomes original research that reflects insights to promote sustainable development and strengthen the implementation of environmental law and justice, in the context of constitutional law, human rights and international law — with potential to stimulate interdisciplinary approaches and cross-sector dialogue.
We seek diverse participation to ensure a plurality of viewpoints in the contribution of articles to our journal of law.
Articles may be submitted in both hard and soft copy. Manuscripts must conform to the requirements set out below.
Annex a separate, brief description of author and co-author: (a) full name, (b) designation, (c) educational qualifications, (d) professional status / institutional affiliation, (e) contact address, email and mobile number.
Each article must include a short abstract of 350 – 400 words and relevant keywords. The abstract should clearly state the title, theme and sub-theme (if any).
The article must be original, high-quality research aligned with the theme. It should reflect insights to promote sustainable development and strengthen the implementation of environmental law and justice within constitutional, human rights and international law frameworks.
The article submitted for publication shall have a word limit of 6,500 – 7,000 words.
An author may have one co-author. If selected for publication, both names will appear in the journal.
